Day 2: Grateful for flexibility

The August 2 entry of "The Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie is titled "In-Between".

Here are some things I really connected with on that page:
"One of the hardest parts of recovery is the concept of letting go of what is old and familiar...and being willing to stand with our hands empty while we wait for God to fill them.
Being in-between isn't fun, but it's necessary. It will not last forever. It may feel like we're standing still, but we're not. We're standing at the in-between place. It's how we get from here to there. It is not the destination.
We are moving forward, even when we're in-between."

Today, I am so thankful for flexibility. I stayed in bed wearing a robe and working on my laptop. I'm not working 9-5 right now and I am so thankful for the flexibility of the non-profit work I'm involved in. Self-care all day, every day if I need it.

This flexibility to focus on my non-profit will pay off. I have an inspiration board on pinterest that has ideas for what the SNIWWOC office could look like in the near future. A multi-functional work and social space. A space where we can host events and meet with community members, partners, and friends. This picture inspires me so much.
